Let me tell you a bit history of Balayan Batangas. The word "Balayan" came from the word BA-I or balai which means house in Sri- Visayan dialect. Later the Filipino suffix “an” was added, thus the word Balayan was coined. This can also mean a group of houses or settlements.
The Municipality of Balayan is a 1st class Municipality in the Province of Batangas. From 3rd class municipality in 1992, Balayan jumped to 2nd class municipality in 1995, and to 1st class in July of 1996. The financial status of Balayan has been continuously improving through the constant effort of the present administration.
The presence is of the sugar central that processes the main agricultural product is a well-blended combination of agriculture and industry. It boosts the role of the Municipality as an agri-based industrial center.
Sugarcane is not only the commodity being processed. Fish resources are being processed as Bagoong Balayan which is a delicacy in carrying the name of the Municipality worldwide. Other natural products are being manufactured as cottage handicrafts and items.

Balayan is a lowland town in western Batangas. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the municipality has a land area of 108.73 square kilometers (41.98 sq mi) [5] constituting 3.49% of the 3,119.75-square-kilometre- (1,204.54 sq mi) total area of Batangas.
Balayan is bounded on the north by Tuy, west by Calatagan and Lian, east by Calaca, and south by the Balayan Bay.
Distance from Manila, the country’s capital, is about 107 kilometers (66 mi) and approximately 48 kilometers (30 mi) from Batangas City.
